5 killed in Gazipur road crashes

At least five people were killed in two separate road accidents in Gazipur city today.

Four people were killed and four others injured as a truck collided head-on with a human hauler on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Masterbari area around 2:30 pm, said Abdul Hai, officer-in-charge of Naojor highway police.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. The injured were admitted to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital, reports our Gazipur correspondent.

Meanwhile, a youth died after he lost control over steering of his private car near Kashimpur Surabari bridge in the city around 10:00 am, said Harun-or-Rashid, in-charge of Chakrabarty police outpost under Joydebpur Police Station.
