Humidity, cloud pull gloom over Dhaka
Humidity and atmosphere have together contributed for a cloud formation that has covered Dhaka city in gloom and haze throughout its landscape.
The good news is, such a cloud formation is likely to result in precipitation – rainfall or light showers in the capital, Bangladesh Meteorological Department says.
“The situation can cause sporadic rainfall in Dhaka and the condition is likely to persist for a day or two,” Abdul Mannan, a Met officer, told The Daily Star.
And after rain falls, the temperature is likely to come down.
The Met office has already recorded rain through the districts of Sylhet, Tangail and several other regions since morning and is expecting similar in Dhaka.
Weather forecast says, the axis of monsoon trough runs through West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to Northeast Bay. Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak over North Bay.
Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
