Bullet-hit bodies of SI, wife recovered in Dhaka

Bullet-hit bodies of a sub-inspector and his wife were recovered from their residence in Rupnagar area of Dhaka’s Mirpur this evening.

Deceased Abdus Sattar was a sub-inspector of Badda Police Station while the name of his wife could not be known immediately, police said.

“SI Sattar shot his wife dead and then committed suicide with his licensed arm,” Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, told The Daily Star.

Meanwhile, Masud Ahmed, deputy commissioner of police (Mirpur division) said bullet-hit bodies of Sattar and his wife were found at his residence in Rupnagar residential area around 6:00pm.

“Legal processing was underway in this regard,” he said in a text message.

The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 8:30pm, said SI Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost.

Bullet-hit bodies of a sub-inspector and his wife were recovered from their residence in Rupnagar area of Dhaka’s Mirpur this evening.
