27 of LGBT community held in Keraniganj

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today claimed to have arrested 27 youths of LGBT community for conducting illegal activities in Keraniganj, the outskirts of Dhaka.

They were detained around 3:00am when they gathered at a community centre in Atibazar area of Keraniganj, Zahangir Hossain Matobbar, commanding officer of Rab-10, told The Daily Star.

The owner of the community centre was also held while the elite force was conducting a raid there, CO Zahangir said.

“The arrestees were caught with narcotics,” the Rab official added.
