A 12-year-old boy was run over, under the wheels of a pick-up van, on Tajmahal Road, Mohammadpur, in Dhaka city this morning.

The victim was identified as Antor, 12, hailing from Tangail. He was said to have been employed at a local eatery ‘Khulna Khabar Ghar’ near Japan Garden City.

The incident took place around 9:30am. A pick-up van ran him over and dragged his body for a few yards. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he was declared dead.

Mohammadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Jamiluddin Mir endorsed the facts to The Daily Star and added that the van has been seized and its driver detained in this connection.
