11 held in Dhaka for ‘ATM card forgery’

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today claimed detention of 11 persons for their alleged involvement in ATM card forgery from different areas in Dhaka.
The identity of the detainees could not be known immediately.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. They used to fish huge amount of money by cloning cards in alliance with dishonest shop employees at different shopping malls in the city, said Mufti Mahmud Khan, director (media), of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab).
They cloned cards using devices installed at different stores, he said. A stash of fake ATM cards and card making materials were seized from their possession, he added.
Further details will be revealed at a press briefing later in the day.
