MIST Career Club recently organised "SheSTEM presents EngiBiz 2025", an inter-university engineering business case competition. 93 teams from 20 different universities across the country took part in this competition. 32 teams advanced to the second round, where they created online video commercials (OVCs) to promote their business ideas.

Several teams from Islamic University of Technology (IUT) took part and excelled in this competition. The final round took place at Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) on March 1, with four of the eight finalist teams coming from IUT.

Team "Market Blitzers" won the championship while team "No Surprises" secured the first runner-up position and team "The Gear Shifters" secured the second runner-up position.

The teams had to pitch innovative AI-based technological ideas and present them as value-driven business models. The competition created an amazing opportunity for students allowing them to recognise real-life problems and develop unique solutions for them.

IUT's Jubair Fahim, a team member of the Market Blitzers, reflecting on his idea shared, "Our plan was to develop a command-based AI prototype. The judges appreciated our 'Sheba-Box' – a voice assistance device that can control home appliances via voice commands. We were anxious about the finals as it was our first time. I had been exploring business competitions for the last one year without being able to make it to the finals but the wait was worth it. Being in the MIST hall with my other fellow IUTians and cheering for each other was truly heartfelt."

Tashfia Islam from The Gear Shifters said, "When we heard that we bagged the second runner-up position, we were overjoyed. And later, when we saw that all of the top three positions were from IUT, it was the cherry on top."
