Sucsu polls on Dec 17: SUST VC announces date following student protest

The Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) will hold Sucsu and hall union elections on December 17.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AM Sarwaruddin Chowdhury announced at a press conference on Friday 9:00pm.

The announcement followed the student protests that began on Thursday evening after the VC cancelled a scheduled press conference on the election roadmap last minute.

The students locked the administrative building and staged a sit-in in front of VC's residence.

The standoff ended at 1:20am Friday when the VC and Pro-VC met the students and promised to announce the election date by evening.
