Imo introduces AI system to identify and restrict scam accounts
Messaging app Imo has launched an AI-based safety system aimed at detecting and limiting scam-related activity on its platform. The company says the system uses automated analysis of user behaviour and activity patterns to identify accounts associated with scams.
According to Imo, the technology monitors metadata, usage patterns and device signals to flag activity that deviates from typical behaviour, such as unusually high message volumes or repeated link sharing. The system does not access message content. Where potential risks are identified, measures may include restricting messaging functions or temporarily suspending accounts.
