State Minister Bobby Hajjaj visits Aga Khan Academy Dhaka

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj visited Aga Khan Academy Dhaka on Wednesday, where he observed the institution’s student-centred approach to learning, leadership development and inquiry-based education.

He was received by Sandy Mackenzie, head of the academy, along with members of the Board of Directors of the Aga Khan Education Service, Bangladesh, and the academy’s leadership team, according to a press release.

During the visit, Bobby Hajjaj toured the academy’s campus and visited its learning spaces, facilities and academic environment.

A key feature of the visit was the Primary Years Programme Exhibition, where junior school students presented inquiry-based projects on issues of local and global relevance.

Students shared their learning experiences and explained how they had researched real-world topics, worked with peers and explored ways to contribute to their communities.

The state minister also visited classrooms and interacted with students about their lessons and activities. He later toured the library and reviewed the learning resources available to students across different age groups.

According to the organisers, the visit provided an opportunity to discuss the role of education in preparing young people for a rapidly changing world. Discussions also focused on ethical leadership, creativity, civic responsibility and foundational learning.

Before concluding the visit, Bobby Hajjaj expressed his appreciation to the students, faculty members and leadership of the academy for their commitment to advancing quality education in Bangladesh.
