A unique cancer awareness program was successfully held at Chowdhury Abdul Hamid Academy, located in Borat and Bhagala areas of Goalanda Upazila, Rajbari, under the campaign titled “Healthy Life, Awareness Today, Protection Tomorrow.”

The initiative was jointly organised by Ujjwala Women and Youth Welfare Foundation and CCI Foundation.

As part of the program, representatives from both organizations visited the academy and conducted various awareness activities among local residents, students, and parents to promote knowledge about cancer.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of attendees, highlighting the importance and relevance of such initiatives.

The program particularly emphasised raising awareness among women about breast cancer and cervical cancer.

Participants were informed in detail about early symptoms, preventive measures, and the importance of early detection.

Distinguished oncologist President of CCI Foundation Dr. Lubna Mariam was present at the event. Also in attendance were Samia Afrin, —who is a cancer survivor and a well known media personality, as well as Acting President of Ujjwala Foundation—and Afroza Parveen, President of Ujjwala Foundation, who is also a cancer survivor.

Their inspiring speeches and personal experiences deeply impacted the audience and encouraged a renewed understanding of the importance of cancer prevention and awareness. The program was successfully carried out with active participation from the school’s teachers, local community leaders, and volunteers.

A significant number of volunteers expressed interest in being involved in similar awareness initiatives in the future. Both Ujjwala Foundation and CCI Foundation reaffirmed their commitment to continuing such programs. They also shared plans to undertake broader initiatives, including medical camps, cancer screening, and ensuring primary healthcare services in phases.
