Midland Bank holds half-yearly strategic conference
Midland Bank PLC (MDB) recently organised its Half-Yearly Strategic Conference 2026 at Fortis Downtown Resort in Dhaka.
The conference brought together the bank’s senior management team, heads of divisions, unit heads, area heads, cluster heads, heads of branches and sub-branches, relationship managers, and other key officials.
They reviewed the bank’s business performance during the first half of 2026 and formulated strategies to achieve its business goals for the remainder of the year. Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, chairman of the bank, inaugurated the conference as the chief guest, according to a press release.
Addressing the event, Ahsan delivered an inspiring speech and encouraged participants to remain committed to excellence, innovation, teamwork, and customer-centric banking while working together to achieve the bank’s strategic vision and sustainable growth.
Imtiaz Uddin Ahmed, managing director and CEO, chaired the programme.
He highlighted the bank’s achievements during the first half of the year and underscored the importance of customer-centric service, sustainable business growth, regulatory compliance, the recovery of non-performing loans, and maintaining high asset quality to achieve the bank’s strategic objectives.
During the conference, Didarul Islam, chief financial officer, presented the bank’s overall financial performance, while Sushanta Sekhar Deb, head of treasury and market risk, reviewed the performance of the treasury business.
Area heads presented detailed analyses of their respective business segments, focusing on profitability, deposit mix, recovery performance, and strategic plans for the next six months.
Business plans and performance reviews of agent banking, cards, and bancassurance were also presented.
The bank honoured outstanding performers across various business segments with crests, certificates, cash rewards, and promotions in recognition of their exceptional achievements and contributions to the bank’s success.
Among others, Md Javed Tarek Khan, head of the institutional banking division, and Md Nazmul Huda Sarkar, deputy managing director and chief technology officer, were also present.
