Stocks start day with gain for second consecutive day
Stocks are up for the second consecutive day following yesterday's gains as investors poured funds on low-priced shares to pocket short-term gains amid price swings.
The DSEX, the premier index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, was up 0.22 percent as of 11:02 am.
The index gained 11.58 points to 5,213.52 in the morning trade.
The market movement showed a positive momentum, as 203 issues advanced, 73 declined, and 91 remained unchanged.
Total turnover stood at Tk 140.47 crore.
Dulamia Cotton Spinning Mills and Dragon Sweater and Spinning led the gains, rising over 10 percent, while shares of Emerald Oil Industries were down over 10 percent.
CSE All Share Price Index was down 0.08 percent, losing 11.86 points to 14,546.84.
