Stocks slip in early trading
Stocks dropped 0.27 percent in the first hour of trading today, following a marginal rise in major indexes yesterday that ended a three-day losing streak.
The DSEX, the premier index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, declined by 14.54 points to 5230.72 as of 11:04 am.
Of the traded shares, 129 advanced, 154 declined, and 87 remained unchanged.
Total turnover stood at Tk 91.58 crore.
Jute Spinners led the gains, rising over 8 percent, while Global Heavy Chemicals and Shinepukur Ceramics recorded the highest drops, each falling over 6 percent.
Meanwhile, the CSE All Share Price Index fell by 0.02 percent, losing 3.69 points to settle at 14668.42.
