Stocks gained in early trading today after recording the steepest decline yesterday since the political changeover in Bangladesh on August 5 this year.

The DSEX, the premier index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, added 25.46 points or 0.49 percent to 5,192.44 as of 11 am today.

Some 262 issues advanced, 43 declined, and 66 remained unchanged. 

Total turnover stood at Tk 80.31 crore. 

Bd Thai Aluminium Ltd led the gains, rising over 8 percent, while shares of Eastern Lubricants Blenders PLC fell over 8 percent.

CSE All Share Price Index was down 0.03 percent, losing 4.68 points to 14,466.90.
