Overall inflation rises 8.49% in December
Overall inflation in Bangladesh rose 8.49 percent in December, up from 8.29 percent in November, driven by increases in both food and non-food prices, according to the latest data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
Food inflation climbed to 7.71 percent in December, compared with 7.36 percent a month earlier, indicating renewed pressure on household budgets as prices of essentials edged up.
