Inflation eases slightly in October
Bangladesh's overall inflation eased slightly to 8.17 percent in October, from 8.36 percent in September, owing to a fall in food prices.
According to data released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics today, food inflation declined to 7.08 percent in October from 7.64 percent a month earlier, offering some relief to consumers.
However, the easing in food prices was partly offset by higher non-food expenses.
Non-food inflation rose to 9.13 percent in October from 8.89 percent in September, indicating continued pressure on household budgets due to rising utility, transport, and service costs.
