Govt hikes rawhide prices by 6% for coming Eid-ul-Azha

The government today hiked prices of salt applied cow-rawhide by 6 per cent to Tk 50-Tk 55 per square feet (sft) in Dhaka during the Eid-ul-Azha, which is going to be celebrated on June 29.
The prices of rawhide of cattle were Tk 47-Tk 52 per sft in the previous Eid-ul-Azha, which accounts for roughly half of the supply rawhide for the export-oriented leather industry.
Prices of salt-applied have been fixed at Tk 45-48 outside Dhaka, according to a decision at a meeting at the commerce ministry.

Meanwhile, the prices of salt-applied rawhide of goats have been fixed at Tk 12-20 sqft in the capital and other parts of the country.
