Exports fall 12% in February to $3.49b

Merchandise exports from Bangladesh in February fell by 12 percent year-on-year to $3.49 billion due to a slowdown in garment shipments.

According to data from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) today, exports also declined in periodic comparison in July-February, by 3.15 percent to $31.90 billion.

Readymade garments recorded $25.79 billion in the first eight months of the fiscal year, reflecting a 3.73 percent decrease compared to the same period of the previous year, as per the EPB data.
