Stocks opened higher for the second day of the week amid buying spree among investors.

The DSEX, the premier index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, was up 1.20 percent as of 11 am today. 

The index gained 62.62 points to 5,241.49 in the morning trade. 

The market movement showed a positive momentum, as 295 issues advanced, 36 declined, and 43 remained unchanged. 

Total turnover stood at Tk 155.53 crore. 

Bangladesh Shipping Corporation and GPH Ispat led the gains, rising over 9 percent, while shares of Meghna Petroleum fell more than 7 percent.

CSE All Share Price Index rose 0.53 percent, gaining 77.19 points to14,511.05
