Dhaka stocks edge up after two-day slide

Stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose in early trading today, rebounding from a two-day losing streak.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, increased 5.33 points, or 0.09 percent, to 5,543.62 by 12:02 pm, according to DSE data.
The mood was mixed across the board: the Shariah-compliant DSES inched up 0.10 percent to 1,205.24, while the blue-chip DS30 went down 0.07 percent to 2,151.12.
Turnover, an indicator of investor activity, reached Tk 450.45 crore at the time.
Market breadth was mixed, with 161 issues advancing against 168 declining, and 69 holding steady.
Among the notable moves, Tamijuddin Textile Mills shot up 9 percent to top the gainers' list, while Trust Islami Life Insurance slid 9 percent, posting the worst fall of the session so far.
