Fuel prices in major economies and neighbouring countries
In light of the government's latest decision to increase prices of fuel across the country from today (August 6), let's have a look at fuel prices (per litre) in the major economies of the world as well as Bangladesh's neighbouring countries.
The oil prices mentioned have been updated as of August 1, 2022, according to globalpetrolprices.com.

At retail level, per litre price of gasoline (octane) is Tk 135 (US$ 1.42), petrol Tk 130 (US$ 1.37), diesel Tk 114 (US$ 1.20), Kerosene Tk 114 (US$ 1.20).

INDIA
In India, gasoline sells at Tk 125.62 (US$ 1.32), diesel Tk 112.67 (US$ 1.184), and kerosene Tk 75.66 (US$ 0.795).
PAKISTAN
In Pakistan, gasoline price is Tk 91.45 (US$ 0.961), diesel Tk 93.74 (US$ 0.985), and kerosene Tk 78.13 (US$ 0.821).
SRI LANKA
In Sri Lanka, gasoline sells at Tk 143.51 (US$ 1.508), diesel Tk 114.29 (US$ 1.201), and kerosene Tk 23.12 (US$ 0.243).
SINGAPORE
In Singapore, gasoline price is Tk 192.99 (US$ 2.028), diesel Tk 192.42 (US$ 2.022).
HONG KONG
In Hong Kong, gasoline price is Tk 283.59 (US$ 2.98), and diesel Tk 261.89 (US$ 2.752).
SAUDI ARABIA
In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, gasoline price is Tk 59 (US$ 0.62), diesel Tk 15.99 (US$ 0.168), and kerosene Tk 20.56 (US$ 0.216).
UAE
In United Arab Emirates, gasoline price is Tk 101.54 (US$ 1.067), and diesel Tk 107.25 (US$ 1.127).
SOUTH KOREA
In South Korea, gasoline is Tk 145.70 (US$ 1.531), diesel Tk 151.50 (US$ 1.592), and kerosene Tk 126.19 (US$ 1.326).
USA
In the United States, gasoline price is Tk 112.29 (US$ 1.18), and diesel Tk 129.14 (US$ 1.357).
UK
In the United Kingdom, gasoline is Tk 213.17 (US$ 2.24), and diesel Tk 225.06 (US$ 2.365).
GERMANY
In Germany, gasoline is Tk 169.20 (US$ 1.778), and diesel Tk 188.33 (US$ 1.979).
FRANCE
In France, gasoline price is Tk 176.53 (US$ 1.855), and diesel Tk 183.38 (US$ 1.927).
