Bangladesh Coast Guard Deputy Director General Commodore M Shahjahan was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral yesterday.

After being promoted, he will serve as the chairman of Mongla Port Authority, said a press release.

M Shahjahan joined the Bangladesh Navy on July 24, 1984, and received the commission on July 24 in 1987.

He served in various important positions of the Bangladesh Navy during his long service life.

He became the deputy director general of Coast Guard on March 11, 2019 and he was carrying out his duties with great success, the press release added.
