BSF detains 4 Bangladeshi nationals
Members of Border Security Force in India detained four Bangladeshi nationals in the border area of Thakurgaon’s Haripur upazila on Thursday afternoon.
The four -- Rubel, 25, Jamal, 22, Masum, 18, and Mahbub, 16 -- were held as they were illegally crossing Indo-Bangla border, read a press release of Border Guard Bangladesh.
The Bangladeshi nationals intruded into India and had been working there for the last six months. On Thursday, they were returning home. BSF handed them over to India’s Goalpukur Police Station after detaining, the press release added.
Mohammad Raj Mamud, assistant director of 50th BGB Battalion, said a company commander-level flag meeting was held at the zero point of the border on Thursday evening between the two counterparts.
The four have been charged with intrusion, he added.
