Chittagong map

A total of 45 Rohingya men, who fled refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar at different times, were detained by police at a house in Chattogram’s Sitakunda upazila early yesterday.

The law enforcers primarily suspected that the Rohingya men used to work as day labourers with different companies in the upazila’s economic zone.

Inspector Shamim Sheikhk of Sitakunda Police Station said they conducted a raid in the upazila’s Shonaichuri union around 2:30am on specific information.

Police are now investigation how they managed to enter Sitakunda, he added.

The law enforcers will proceed to the next course of action after producing the detainees before a court, he further said.
