The new infectious variants of COVID-19 are menacing all around the world forcing many countries to impose lockdown-type measures.

Some countries have started COVID-19 vaccine roll out in the past few weeks and most people are wondering when the long-cherished first vaccine shipment will arrive in Bangladesh.

Six months have now been passed since the first COVID-19 patient was detected in Bangladesh. Bangladesh has been fortunate to see a low percentage of symptomatic patients with a low death rate as compared to many other nations.

‘Lives or livelihood?’ is the conflict haunting nations worldwide and Bangladesh is no exception. Whether to impose stricter restrictions to contain the virus or to relax such measures to earn livelihood has become the prime dilemma in the combat against the novel coronavirus.
