Souls to celebrate 50 years with unplugged concert in Chattogram

Legendary Bangladeshi rock band Souls is set to mark its 50th anniversary with a special unplugged concert titled "Souls Unplugged: 50 Years of Timeless Music" on May 2 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Chattogram Bay View. The event is presented by Mastercard and organised by M&M Business Communications.
Souls, formed in 1973 in Chattogram, began its journey under the name "Surela" a year earlier in 1972, founded by Sazed Ul Alam along with Lulu and Roni. The band soon renamed itself "Souls" and became a pioneer in the country's rock music scene.
At a press conference held yesterday, band members Partha Barua (lead guitarist and vocalist), Mir Masum (keyboardist), and aMaruf Hasan Real (bassist) shared details of the upcoming event. Also present were Syed Mohammad Kamal, country manager of Mastercard Bangladesh, and Monzuma Murshed, CEO of M&M Business Communications.
The organisers emphasised that Souls has not only shaped Bangladesh's music culture but also inspired generations of musicians and fans. The unplugged concert will feature stripped-down versions of the band's most beloved songs, offering a nostalgic and emotional experience.
"This is more than a concert, it's a celebration of a journey that began 50 years ago and continues to echo in the hearts of millions," said organisers, dedicating the show to all generations who grew up with Souls' music.
The concert begins at 8pm on May 2. Advance ticket sales, priced at Tk 7,000, begin today at mastercard.sslcommerz.com/souls5.
