To celebrate the glorious 70 years of the Faculty of Fine Art (FFA), University of Dhaka FFA, coupled with the Zainul Utshab 2018, along with hundreds of artists, teachers, students and alumni poured into their alma mater yesterday to join the jubilant reunion.

Intriguing art displayed at the festival

All the eight departments of FFA, together with the country's finest artisans, are displaying and selling artworks and crafts at stalls at Zainul Fair that will continue till December 29. The day's event included a colourful procession in the morning, a reflection on the 70-year journey of the institution by former and current students, followed by a vibrant cultural programme with the participation of the current students and teachers of the faculty.

Various stalls showcase arts and crafts

A solo sitar recital by a former student, Alif Laila, and musical performance by popular folk band Joler Gaan in the evening and an intriguing documentary screening were also highlights of the celebration. The month-long celebration also include art exhibition by the teachers and the award winning students and will come to an end through conferring Zainul Sammanona and Zainul Gold Medal on December 29.
