Popular TV actress Homayra Himu began her career in theatre and modeling before finding a strong footing on the small screen. Today the artiste is part of the main cast in four drama series currently on air. In a recent interview with The Daily Star, the artiste reveals a little known side of herself: matters of the heart.

“I got my first love letter when I was in school; an admirer pushed the missive through a window of my house. After reading it, I immediately handed it over to my mother and grandmother, and they tore it to pieces. The letter began with -- 'Ogo amar Banalata Sen'. I remember laughing so hard! I still find it funny to this day.”

“I was a straightforward girl even back in the day, and not the type to give in to infatuations easily. I had a lot of male friends, and I was very bold and outspoken, and maybe that's why the admirer didn't have the courage to face me directly.”

“Our house is located in Laxmipur town's College Road. During my years in school, many letters were sent to my house, expressing feelings of love towards me. I never really had the interest to read them, my mother and grandmother would go through them instead.”

“People usually gave up after two or three attempts. There were those that tried to be bolder; a boy used to often stand at the end of the road waiting for me on the way to school. One day, he asked me to be his girlfriend and I turned him down. Another time, a classmate asked me out, but it offended me, and I eventually had him apologise to me.”

“I was in the tenth grade when I had my first real crush. He was very cute, but I was unable to confess my feelings for him.”
