Cyber Harassment!

I woke up last Thursday to find my Facebook inbox flooded with worried messages from my friends and a few cousins. Someone was using my photo as her profile picture and sending friend requests and vulgar messages to people on my friend list. She also had an album with revealing pictures of someone else, passing them off as mine. Although I have an idea as to who this person can be, there is no way for me to prove it. This person has been stalking me for about a year, harassing me by calling me up constantly, and spreading vicious rumours about me to my friends and family. I felt extremely helpless when I saw the fake account because besides reporting it to facebook, there was little I could do to stop her from humiliating me. The account was eventually taken down, but the experience has left me a bit shaken. People should really use social media more responsibly and there should be ways to track online stalkers and make them face severe consequences for their actions.

Irresponsible Teacher

At my school there is a teacher who owns a coaching centre to which many students go to study. I was under the impression that the students go there willingly. Of late, I have come to know from a friend that some students get forced to attend his coaching centre.

The friend who told me this did not go to that coaching before. But the teacher tried to persuade her to take coaching, and at one point he literally forced her to enroll in the centre. He threatened her with bad grades if she did not do so. Understandably, my friend got very frightened and began to take lessons in his coaching. I was really shocked when I heard this. What is even more unsettling is that teachers of most of the schools are doing this on a regular basis. The teachers are concentrating more on making money rather than on teaching. These teachers should be taken to task for being so irresponsible.

Addictive Toons

Last week, I went to stay at my uncle's house for a few days. My uncle has two children and since they watch TV a lot, I asked them what they watched all the time. They promptly replied that they watched Doraemon adding they loved it dearly. My aunt appeared and said that my little cousins were so fond of the cartoon show that they wouldn't have food before watching it. My personal opinion is that the children are addicted to Doraemon. They always wait impatiently for the show to begin and when the show is on, they just leave their books aside.

After seeing my little cousins, I can't help thinking if the trend is going to harm the new generation of our country. I also watch my younger brother and his friends in fear, as they talk endlessly about the show. As a person who never paid much attention to the idiot box anyway, I must note that I don't get much of the hoopla that surrounds the show. I hope that the concerned authorities do something to save the future of our nation from such addictive shows.
