Netherlands
It is legal to smoke pot, buy it, or have less than 5 grams with you.
Prostitution is legal but the prostitutes must pay taxes like any other business.
Why does this law exist? In order to regulate a profession that had continued illegally for quite some time, this law was passed. Now, prostitutes are regulated and have civil rights. Prostitution is now much more than safer and cleaner than in previous eras when it was often stigmatised and confined to poor sections of a town.
Morocco
Anyone in company with someone who possesses narcotics, even if they are unaware that their companion has them, can be tried for the same crime.
Mexico
Clergymen may not wear their religious garb in public. (Mexican Constitution of 1917)
Boneshakers, safety bicycles, and any other similar machines are banned from the centre of town. (Law enacted in 1891)
Bicycle riders may not lift either foot from the peddles, as it might result in a loss of control. (Law enacted in 1892)
Why does this law exist? After a coach killed a bicycle rider in a hit-and-run incident in 1895, efforts were made to pass laws for the protection of riders.
Women who work for the government of the city of Guadalajara, may not wear miniskirts or any other “provocative” garment during office hours.
It is illegal to shout offensive words in any public place.
Any kind of nude artistic display is illegal.
