Hasina must resign from parliament before election: Fakhrul

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said the government is misleading people, saying that the Electronic Voting Machine will be used in the next polls.
"But our position is very clear. Hasina (PM Sheikh Hasina) must resign from the parliament, parliament must be dissolved and the government must hand over the power to a neutral caretaker government," Mirza Fakhrul said.
Addressing a mammoth rally at Bangabandhu Udyan in Barishal, he said people of the country now wants relieve from the clutches of the government.

Regarding the PM's statement that a famine might hit the country, the BNP leader said, "Why the PM is talking about famine now? Even Few days ago they (government) claimed of development everywhere. People don't want this type of development anymore."
He urged people to get united to save the country. "We will form a national government if we voted to power. We are not alienated from the people, rather we remain connected to the people."
He alleged that the ruling Awami League has destroyed all the achievements of the country one after another through "misrules and misdeeds".
The BNP leader alleged that attack and filing cases are the weapons of the "illegal" government. "First they attack and then filed cases."
Portraying a gloomy picture of the country's economy, he said crores of money were siphoned off to Malaysia, Canada and other countries and put the country at stake.
