Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury resigns

Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has resigned today as the Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad.

She submitted her resignation letter to President Mohammed Shahabuddin in the morning, according to sources at Bangabhaban.

The president dissolved the parliament a day after former prime minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country on August 5 in the wake of the mass uprising.
