Dhanmondi 32 demolition still ongoing

The demolition of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Dhanmondi 32 residence is still ongoing with dozens of protesters seen manually dismantling the building.

As of 10:00pm, protesters were seen taking apart bricks and rods of the the house using sledgehammers.

In an adjacent building, a fire was seen on the top floor.

In the afternoon, the protesters slaughtered a cow and preparation for a feast began by the night.

Using loudspeakers, protesters demanded justice for all the injustices committed by the Awami League during its 15-year rule, including the execution of Jamaat leaders.

Earlier, the excavators, which were brought in last night, left the scene by 10:30am.

Then the protesters started demolishing the building behind Bangabandhu's residence, which housed an art gallery and was an extension of the museum.
