The Election Commission today suspended the elections to three upazilas in Chandpur and Netrokona districts -- due to Cyclone Remal.

The three upazilas -- Kachua and Faridganj under Chandpur and Khaliajuri under Netrokona -- were scheduled to go for the third phase elections tomorrow.

EC Director Public Relations Shariful Alam confirmed the information to The Daily Star.

He said election to Khaliajuri was suspended due to suspension of the road communication while election to the Kachua and Faridganj was suspended following the disruption of power supply.
