Govt orders 10 Saturday classes in primary schools after Eid vacation

Government has directed all primary schools to remain open on the first 10 Saturdays after the Ramadan and Eid vacation to make up for learning losses caused by closures during the holy month.

The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education issued the order on March 16, signed by Deputy Secretary (School‑2) Rajib Kumar Sarker.

In a letter to the Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE), the ministry noted that studies had been disrupted during the vacation, and instructed schools to hold academic activities on Saturdays after reopening.

Following the directive, the DPE today asked its field offices to take necessary steps. The instruction was conveyed through a letter signed by Deputy Director Md Joynal Abedin, which was sent to district primary education officers for implementation.
