Diplomats from 27 European countries will hold a meeting today with Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus in Dhaka, demonstrating support for the interim government.

Twenty of those envoys are stationed in New Delhi, and the rest in Dhaka.

They will also explore new areas of cooperation with Bangladesh.

"We want to support the current government and its reform initiatives," a diplomat from the EU delegation in Dhaka told this correspondent.

A foreign ministry official said the EU always promotes the values of human rights, labour rights, democracy, inclusion, and the environment, and the current government is committed to this.

"Thus, the EU has full support for the current government. At the same time, they will also present their concerns the interim government may have," he told The Daily Star yesterday.

On Thursday, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Rafiqul Alam said both sides will explore new areas of cooperation, how to address the Rohingya crisis, climate change, GSP+ facilities in the post-LDC era and how to take forward the comprehensive partnership with Bangladesh.
