A Russian worker was found dead at his dormitory in the Green City residential area of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Pabna yesterday night.

The deceased, Evan Kaitmajov, 40, was an employee of a company working at the nuclear power plant. He had been living in flat no. 95 of the 14th building in the Green City residential area.

Md Shahidul Islam Shahid, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ishwardi Police Station, said Evan had been unresponsive for some time. He was found lying on the bathroom floor of his flat.

He was taken to the health centre at Green City Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue for an autopsy today.

"The cause of death is still unclear, but an investigation is underway," the OC added.
