Ashulia killings: ICT-2 to deliver verdict on February 5

The International Crimes Tribunal-2 will deliver its verdict on February 5 in a crimes against humanity case over the killing of seven people, including the burning of six bodies, during the July uprising in Ashulia.

A three-member tribunal bench led by Justice Md Nozrul Islam Chowdhury announced the date today.

The case involves 16 accused, including former Awami League lawmaker Muhammad Saiful Islam and former deputy inspector general (DIG) of police Nurul Islam, over their alleged involvement in the killings.

Of the accused, eight are currently in custody, while the remaining accused are absconding.
