Three resorts burnt in fire on Saint Martin's Island

Three resorts were destroyed as a fire broke out in Galachipa area on the western beach of Saint Martin's Island early today.
The incident occurred around 2:30am, engulfing entire Beach Valley Eco Resort, six rooms of Kingshuk Eco Resort, and a section of Shayari Eco Resort.

Mujibur Rahman, chairman of Saint Martin's Union Parishad, confirmed that no tourists or locals were harmed in the incident.
He said that the lack of advanced firefighting equipment delayed efforts to control the fire.
"Local residents tried to douse the flames with sand," he said, adding that the fire might have originated from a cooking stove or a short circuit, though the cause has not been confirmed yet.
Joynal Abedin, a resident of the island, said the absence of a fire service on the island contributed to the large-scale damage.
