Biker killed in collision with bus on Ctg-Cox’s Bazar highway

A motorcyclist was killed after a bus ran him over on the Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway in Chattogram’s Chandanaish upazila today.

The victim is Md Javed, 24, of Hajipara area in the upazila.

Quoting locals, Dohazari Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salahuddin Chowdhury said the accident occurred at 12:00pm when a Cox’s Bazar bound Hanif Paribahan bus collided with the moving motorcycle.

Javed, the lone bike rider, died on the spot as his bike went under the bus and got stuck, said the OC.

Chandanaish Police Station OC Md Elias Khan said the bus was seized shortly after the incident, but the driver fled the scene.

A case will be filed in this regard, he added.
