Different socio-political organisations on Thursday expressed grave concern over laying-off the jute mills at Khalishpur in Khulna and demanded immediate payment of due salaries and arrears of the workers and their alternative employment. They also urged the government to review its decision on humanitarian ground. Leaders of Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad (Skop) said laying-off the jute mills will cause huge unemployment and a decline in country's jute industry.
