Oil prices ease

World oil prices eased on Friday as traders paused for breath following a week which saw New York crude strike a record high 78.77 dollars per barrel on concerns over US energy supplies. New York's main futures contract, light sweet crude for delivery in September, fell 19 cents to 76.67 dollars per barrel in electronic deals on Friday before the start of US floor trading. In London, the price of Brent North Sea crude for September delivery slid 37 cents to 75.39 dollars per barrel in electronic trade.
