ICAB library inaugurated

The renovated central library of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) was inaugurated yesterday.Editor of the daily Prothom Alo Matiur Rahman inaugurated the library at a function at CA Bhaban in the city. With the renovation, some 300 students can use the library at a time where around 13,000 books and 5,000 journals on accountancy and auditing are also available, ICAB officials said. Speaking at the function, Matiur Rahman said since there is inadequate human resource in Bangladesh, ICAB can play a significant role in boosting the country's human resources. He also assured of providing assistance to the ICAB for buying more books and journals and for holding programmes for the ICAB students. He also said ICAB and Prothom Alo can jointly organise a roundtable on cost management and accounting so that common people can understand financial management through newspapers. ICAB President Farhad Hussain and Vice-president Jamal Uddin Ahmed also spoke at the function.
