4 electrocuted

Four people were electrocuted within a span of 15 hours in the city. The dead were identified as, Akhtar Hossain, 18, Selim, 25, Shah Alam, 16 and Moyez Uddin, 18. Rickshaw-puller Ahter Hossain, a resident of Bizli Mahalla slum, was electrocuted around 9:00pm on Tuesday when he touched one of the sides of his tin-shed house. Locals said one of the snapped electric wires was touching his tin-shed house which caused the electrocution. Selim, a construction worker, got electrocuted the same day around 4:00pm when an electric wire came in contact with a piece of iron rod that Selim was carrying. The incident happened when he was working at an under-construction building site at Bansari project in Rampura. Shah Alam, a worker at an engineering workshop, was electrocuted at around 12:10am yesterday inside his workshop at Bangram in Shutrapur when he accidentally came in contact with a torn electric wire while pressing a light switch. Construction worker Moyez Uddin, got electrocuted at around 7:00am while he was working at an under-construction building at Rasulbagh area in Lalbagh yesterday. stations in this connection.
