The deceased Abul Kalam Sikder, 31, was returning to his house at Elenbari at Tejgaon after finishing his duties at Dhanmondi.

His father Abdul Momin said they found Kalam stabbed in his chest in front of their house at 12:30am on Tuesday night.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and later he was shifted to Chest Diseases Hospital.

Meanwhile, Mitford police recovered a body of an unidentified male aged around 32 from Gabtoli sand field at 3:00pm yesterday.

Quoting locals, police said he was thrown to the sand field from a running truck.

Police suspected that he might have been strangled.

Morgue sources said they found some mark of injuries on his throat.
