Musical soiree by Srijon

In continuation of their regular programme on the last Saturday of every month, cultural organisation Srijon arranged a musical soiree featuring songs of yesteryears, on June 30.The programme was held at Poet Sufia Kamal Auditorium, National Museum and was the 59th programme by the organisation. The musical soiree featured instrumental music, songs of Tagore, Nazrul and Atul Prasad as well as folk and modern songs by noted and promising artistes. The show began with solo instrumental performances. Sheuli Bhattacharya played Raga Jog on violin, accompanied by Syed Meher Hossain on tabla. Tania Mannan rendered a Tagore song Pub haowate dey dola and an Atul Prasad song Srabon jhulatey. Rezaul Karim performed Nazrul songs Shaono raatey jodi and Gul bagichar bulbuli. Renditions of classical and folk songs by promising singers followed. Rupu Khan, Shamim Ara Luna, Ehtesham Shahjahan, Fakir Shahidul Islam, Naznin Mimi also sang at the programme.
