Rain ruins Scot-Pak match

Scotland suffered a major disappointment for the second time in three years when their one-day international against Pakistan was washed out by rain.

The umpires decided no play would be possible in the early afternoon after a persistent downpour in Edinburgh.

Two years ago Scotland's game against Australia suffered a similar fate.

On that occasion Cricket Scotland had insured the match in case of rain, but a 4,500 sell-out crowd had to wait five months for refunds to be paid.
