Helen Mirren goes to Gaza
Helen Mirren's upcoming projects include an untitled drama that will see her as a Jewish woman whose journalist daughter falls in love with a Palestinian and is shot dead. The film is being produced by Andy Harries, who recently won a BAFTA for The Queen. Erstwhile TV helmer Philip Martin will call the shots, having previously collaborated with Mirren on episodes of Prime Suspect.Plans to film in Gaza have been ruled out following the kidnapping of BBC journalist Alan Johnson and a general lack of security in the region. The project is still in development, but locations are being scouted in neighbouring Jordan. Source: BBC
