Comilla were crowned champions in the Chittagong leg of Samsung 2nd Divisional Karate Championship in Cox's Bazar on May 19.They won five gold medals and one silver and bronze each. Sohel Rana, Nazmul Hasan, Mohammad Lokman and Hasan Khan won the gold medals while Saleha Lovely won silver and bronze in the women's event. Chittagong and hosts Cox's Bazar won three gold medals each. UNDER-13 CRICKET Metro Cricket Academy beat Indira Road by 49 runs to move into the semifinal of Boost Power Cup under-13 cricket tournament at the Kalabagan Cricket Ground. Batting first, Metro reached 224 for 7 in 30 overs with Sajib smashing 43 off 29 balls. Sadik took three for 27. Sadik had a great day as he struck 90 but his side were bowled out for 166 runs in 28 overs. He was named man-of-the-match. DIV 2 HOCKEY Barnak Samaj emerged as unbeaten champion in the Green Delta Metropolis Second Division Hockey League beating Raktim Sangha 4-0 in the last league match at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium. With the day's feat, Barnak Samaj, which secured nine points from three straight wins from all three super league matches, earned the right to play in First Division from next season. Rayer Bazar finished runners-up in the league collecting four points from three league games. In the day's match, Mohammad Arafat struck a hattrick for Barnak.
